Sani Ali GAR – holds a B.Sc. Degree in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and an M.Sc. Degree in Population Studies from the UN Regional Institute for Population Studies (UNRIPS) at the University of Ghana. He served in the National Population Commission, Nigeria, for 35 years and retired as the Director Population Management. During those years he acquired the skills of data collection, analysis, report writing and dissemination of results through practical experiences including as interviewer, field supervisor, field coordinator, monitor, and trainer. He has served as Principal Investigator (Project Director/Survey Manager) for many national surveys such as Nigeria Demographic and Health Surveys (NDHS), Nigeria Malaria Indicator Survey (NMIS), Nigeria State Health Investment Project Surveys (NSHIP), Nigeria Education Data Survey (NEDS), etc. He also served as Project Director of Data Research and Mapping Consult Ltd for the IHP Baseline Assessments in Bauchi, Kebbi, and Sokoto States (2020) and Ebonyi State and the FCT (2021).
